SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE:

After graduating from Rice University, Mr. Cooper has been involved in a number of investment banking roles with firms such as Merrill Lynch, New York Life Securities, Inverness Securities, and BB&T Securities as well as holding senior executive roles in international business development initiatives in the telecommunications, renewable fuels and merchant banking sectors. He has worked on over $US 500 million in deals during these engagements and has worked with teams with assets under management in excess of $US 250 million.

Mr. Cooper has extensive business development expertise in taking projects of scale from concept to execution. He has combined his international business development expertise, management consulting training and his investment banking background into consultative expertise in the project financing/project development packaging required to finance projects of scale through senior debt, mezzanine and public/private equity sources of financing. In addition, he is a FINRA registered securities professional with Series 7 (General Securities Representative), Series 66 (Investment Adviser Representative) and Series 79 (Investment Banking Representative) licenses (currently non-affiliated).

He has diverse energy sector project development and execution experience having served as the CEO of Ethanol Corporation of America, an international renewable fuels concern involved in Africa, South America and the United States, for four years from 2004-2008.

He has specific iron ore and DRI project development and execution experience, having served as the project leader for the DRI conversion business of Consolidated Industries J.V. of London in their Nigerian merchant DRI operations for four years from 1987-1993. 

Mr. Cooper has led Republic Capital since its very inception, with work beginning on the Ethanol Corporation of Liberia project, the Ducor Intercontinental Hotel Rehabilitation Project, the Republic Finance Merchant Banking project and the Liberia Telecommunications Monrovia Fiber Ring project, amongst others.

SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE:

Mr. Morgan is an accomplished professional accountant, financial consultant and for the last 15 years has expanded his portfolio to include serving as a Liberia-based Agro-Entrepreneur.

After graduating from North Carolina Central University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Mr. Morgan completed his MBA at the George Washington University in Washington, DC. He also qualified as a Certified Public Accountant in the state of North Carolina, USA and spent many years practicing as an accountant while he was resident in the USA.

Since returning home to Liberia in 2011, no longer maintaining active status as a US CPA, Mr. Morgan has served primarily as a Management Consultant advising on small-medium enterprise (SME) funding solutions. He also serves as an agricultural businessman – where he has owned, developed and operated over 1,000 acres of rubber and oil palm plantations. In this capacity, he oversees plantation operations, sales and logistics. He also provides consulting services and assists clients with development and operation of their plantations. In these capacities, Mr. Morgan also participates in the trading and export of cocoa beans.

Mr. Morgan still provides professional services to client in the USA as an Independent Financial Analyst and Consultant, where he performs consulting services and investigations involving the operations of major U.S. public utilities with particular emphasis on rate regulation. This involves his reviewing and analyzing utility rate filings, focusing on: revenue requirements determination; accounting and regulatory policy; mergers and acquisitions evaluations; rate of return determination; and cost recovery mechanisms and ensuring that financial statements are presented in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
